Educating Cheryl: Bo Kaap Saturday

My friend Cheryl, a longtime resident of Cape Town, had yet to explore the vibrant city she called home. Eager to show her the wonders she'd been missing, I proposed a walking tour. Our first day began in the colourful neighbourhood of Bo Kaap. Driving my trusty VW Beetle, Daisy, up the steep hill was a triumph, and I marvelled at her smooth ascent (especially since I managed not to stall). Parking at the crest of Wale Street, we planned to descend, capture photos along the way, and ultimately reach the Atlas Trading Shop for spices to craft a delectable Malay curry for dinner. As fate would have it, Fashion Week was in full swing, treating us to an impromptu front-row spectacle—a stunning fashion show echoing the vibrant spirit of Bo Kaap itself.
